Hiya, I'm trying to mod Hollow Knight on my mac but whenever i try to open the installer it says that the file is incomplete. What should I do?

I need help with the HK randomizer tracker for OBS, I tried going to this side ( https://iamwyza.github.io/HollowKnightRandomizerTracker/Index.html ) and all that, and it says I can move stuff around there, but there is nothing to move around, and there's no way to add anything, too, so does somebody know what I'm doing wrong?

No you can't without owning the game.
Use the Mac installer in pins here
Install mods when the game is closed, then open it to use infinite notches
To use the obs tracker, you need the mod playerdatadump. And also have your game running to move things around in the webpage
that's what I did and when i opened the game it didn't work
Did you get off the bench and get back on? Is it listed on the top left of your title menu? Is anything top left? Is it turned on in the in game options?

By the time you pogo up to the weaversong you killed the shooty spider guy so you can't get back up there to hit the wall and break it. Even if I had nail0 this would be impossible. Or is it that you have to grind and do this multiple times? Gross either way. FWIW I have "mild" skips enabled. LOL
You can break the wall with spells. And the wall spider respawns if you leave the room
I have two nail upgrades, so I unfortunately one-shot the spider. So that makes the pogo job super precise. Possible but precise.
took three tries because I had never gotten the chest before and I didn't know there would be another spider pogo job. this was the last place for me to check and it had the claw. Now I may continue my regularly scheduled rando play ๐

I just installed a few mods and I'm getting oneshot by everything, not sure what's causing it

enemy rando is unstable, that's why I suggested removing it
It's just the usual "bug" that happens in boss rooms: Brooding Mawlek was replaced with Gruz mother and the gates won't open

yeah, rando3 (and benchwarp etc) won't load
seanprcore was installed as dependency, I think โ didn't install it actively, but it's among the mods crashing on start

rename it to Assembly-CSharp.dll and replace your Assembly-CSharp.dll with it

You have to set some garbage in steam
It's like mark the controller as not being used

its interesting, i can use my controller to skip the cutscenes when starting a new game, but no buttons work once the game starts nor at the main menu

Linux modding api kills controller input as a whole if not compiled for linux
But some controllers just don't work with the api installed
I have no idea why
Because input handling is basically untouched
But I don't have a controller which doesn't work so I haven't been able to debug

side note for the prepatcher. the move command doesnt exist on linux. and there is a casing issue in that command. to get it to work i changed it to mv Prepatcher.exe ../../PrePatcher.exe
dont think ive ever debuged a mono application before. so dealing w/ fun there atm
when i try to debug the prepatcher inside mono develop, it seems to work. im not exactly sure what command its using to run the application though
You just have to move the pdb to the same directory as the prepatcher
And then it'll use that for line numbers on exceptions

So, I'm trying out the modinstaller on my mac, but when even when I have the mods enabled (after confirming install location of HK) it doesn't seem to enable the mods
purchased at Steam btw
My title screen doesn't have anything on the top left, so I don't think Hollow Knight recognized the mod at all

rando 3 seems to think I can make it to soul sanctum with monarch wings as my only vertical movement. I may be missing something but I can't seem to find a way to get there?

Yeah. that was added in randomizer after Team Cherry changed the room in current patch
you can go from the left side as well
There are several paths to Soul Sanctum. That one simply happens to be the easiest for most people with only wings
yeah I was able to get up on the left. Was stuck there because there were no enemies to pogo off before I noticed it
the major difference being that you won't always have access to the other side

Goodness gracious me, I'm sorry to bother you all but I am having a slight problem with 753's Lightbringer mod? I was going to message them directly, but noticed they were playing a game so I thought best to leave them be if this turns out to be a simple issue.
For some reason the custom knight textures seem to be... utterly black? The general shape and form is there, but the knight is completely devoid of all art. I tried installing the Custom Knight modification in an attempt to overwrite the lightbringer's custom, white cloak (presumably corrupted, or otherwise having difficulty reaching the image source) but that has done nothing.
Strangely enough this happened whilst playing. The knight began to flicker, and twitch, and then? Was swallowed up by the void itself.
Is this a common issue? Is there some way to put the preset custom knight texture (or even the base games knight texture) on a higher load chain than the lightbringer recolor?

with spicy skips I think its in logic to kill him with mark of pride or cyclone slash

if you have wall jump double jump or dash you can get to fungal wastes
or a dreamer
and you have to make sure to check salubra sly and iselda

That room is a one-time arena
If you want to respawn it, you'll have to edit your save file
