with some exceptions

hey i installed the modding installer, and it wont let me revert to unmodded/change directory where mods are installed to, is there anyway to fix it?
I got some graphical issues. Originally, in the screen size screen even if I dragged the cursor all the way to the right it wouldn't fit full screen. I messed with that, and the screen size settings... Got weird. Now, no matter what I do, I can't get my screen size as small as it was before. If I drag all the way left, it's not as small as it used to be. Because I can't get it that small, it's causing lag.

i could always manually count my notch usage but that's just sad and i want the overcharmed effect its not like its a downside on radiant anyway
well, i fixed one half of my inconvenience, i can overcharm now.
the insignificant problem is that the purple effect isn't on the masks. but i do take double damage, so it's fine, i guess.
(you could have at least told me i had to reinstall the mods for the setting to be available)
the purple effect sucks so nothing of value is lost
that doesn't mean anything if i already did that (via the modder, not ingame) and was trying to figure out why i didn't have the menu (ingame)

but, yeah, the purple effect does suck.
so you install the mod, turn off the effect in game
then uninstall mod
using "disable" on the installer, just moves the mod to an "off" folder
so it's not even installed anymore

I made masks of various parts of the knight and then applied effects to each mask separately in krita
but yeah, some of the skins do require coloring in each pixel one by one

what is the unofficial hollow knight patch
like say you have 1 lifeblood and get hit by a 2 dmg attack, you lose lifeblood and take 2 masks of dmg. the patch fixes that

The ModInstaller just broke for me. It worked fine for a few days, I installed Mods, and the Mods I have installed still work just fine. But now, when I start the exe, it tries to download something (2.84MB), says "Download complete!" and then throws me a Microsoft .NET Framework exception saying "C:\temp\hollow_knight_Data\Managed\Assembly-CSharp.dll already exists."
When I ignore the exception, I get a big empty window where the only button is "Manually".
I already redownloaded the exe, that didn't do anything. Any other suggestions?
I tried deleting the file in question, but apparently that just makes the game not load anymore and makes the ModInstaller think the game is no longer installed. Maybe someone could shoot me a vanilla version of the Assembly-CSharp.dll ?
Verify file integrity
Verifying Game Integrity did reset to unmodded, but the ModInstaller was still broken. I fixed it by manually dragging the correct files from the ModAPI zip into the Managed folder though.

Does the debug mod or the mod API mess up the video settings at all?
I can't put it in windowed mode.
I can't even highlight windowed/fullscreen as an option in video settings.
The mouse just passes it to the next option like it's not there.

so I downloaded Custom Knight with the API and then I downloaded Zote Knight
the doc said I need to replace the files in Custom Knight with new zote files
but there was nothing there to begin with
so I just put the zote knight image files in and then launched the game, and I still have knight sprites instead of our glorious overlord

So I'm digging through the Enemy Randomizer and I'm staring at the Enemy names...Where did these names come from? Is there a document somewhere that translates from this coded list to Hunter's Journal entries?
The enemy names are the names of the gameobjects themselves
as in what the enemies are called according to unity
it's not recent but there are some scene dumps that lack proper FSM initialization but still have everything else like the gameobject names that you can download if you wanna see everything

I could write a proper scene dumping mod in 5 minutes that includes fsm data if you need that but I dunno what you'd do with it. FSM data includes stuff like the length that enemies wait between attacks
Ah. Yeah, I just need to know the mapping between Gameobject enemy name and journal enemy name
ok well this isn't that but this tells you for a given scene name all the objects inside the scene and uh well enemies are on layer 11 so you can search for layer: 11 to only see enemies I think but it's up to you to figure out which enemy is which based on your knowledge of which enemies are in a given scene
and I say this because nobody's ever done this before as far as I'm aware

i think after uninstalling my mods and verifying my cache my game feels... slower somehow
feels like dashes come out way slower
and crystal heart works weird now, you like hit the left trigger once to hold it then hitit again to release

Welp, I can safely say that my idiocy has paid off. In this time, I have been able to scour the scene dump and find almost every boss's name thanks to your instructions @noble basin. 😃

I was curious to know how exact we need to be when naming a GameObject. Does it have to be exactly as we find in the scene dump files or can it be mostly correct? If I call "Mega Zombie Beam Miner", will we get the correct enemy in the game even though its GameObject name is "Mega Zombie Beam Miner (1)"?

Hey @runic oriole I was curious about your bonfire mod. Ive tried it out and every now an then it stalls on the frame for a half second. I tried turning on and off mods and the modding api, but it seems to just be the bonfire mod. I havent tested it with a lot of different mods though. I have an amd cpu and nvidea 1080.
Is it up to date wit the latest version? Or do I have a hardware setup thats effecting the game?
