Figured it out.
I had it installed, and was playing off a portable drive I carry to/from work, and ALSO had it installed on the laptop I'm on, so it's installing the stuff to the drive, and I'm launching from Steam not realizing it's launching from a different location. /sigh

no the whole point of IG is it's supposed to get harder the longer you fight it and one of the ways it was supposed to get harder was time between staggers increasing

any config changes that make the game harder (even by the tiniest amount) without doing anything to make the game easier are recorded by the game and can be submitted as scores.

it gets a bit faster, but anyway my thought is this, if I make IG hardmode harder I will probably only be doing difficulty changes after 12-15k dmg.
normally the only thing that gets harder after 9k dmg is the time between staggers so it's just endurance after that but I'm thinking I should change that to stop absurd 12 hour NKG fights from happening which are no fun for anyone.

ideally he doesn't get faster except for the attacks that give people time to heal with qf and unn, the less fast I can make him while still making these unviable outside stun/stagger the better. Maybe I'll chain attacks together or do something about firebats

I am having trouble getting mods to work on a downpatched version. I downpatched to 1.2.2.1 and it works fine until I install the API and bossrush mod. Then the game crashed when i try to run it.

That drive just has the enemy health bars readme as far as I can tell, which is one of the mods which has a self explanatory name.
Boop Mod, Charming, Hell Mod, Mantis Gods, Mod Common, QoL, Player Data Tracker, Randomizer, Randomizer 2
Boop Mod changes the sound of you hitting things to the Boop that one Overwatch character did... Uhhh... Sombra?
Charming makes some not so useful charms powerful
like Heavy Blow, The Compass and Gathering Swarm
Hell Mod:
Lower Nail Damage
Slower gaining of Soul
Slower Healing
Spells cost thrice as much
Enemies Deal Double Damage
DreamShield costs one
and I think that's it
Mantis Gods adds a Mantis Lords refight which is stupid hard (above NKG levels of difficulty)
ModCommon is similar to the API, required by some mods to function
QoL is spedrun related and I don't know much, sorry

Randomizer and Randomizer 2 do the same, except Rando 2 is the updated version for the current patch

When you pick up, say, Fury of the Fallen, you may get Grimmchild
it replaces random items and stuff with other random items and stuff

and yes you can do all three, blackmoth + lightbringer might have some minor incompatibilities but generally should work together
by minor I mean like they might both change the text descriptions on charms and you'll only see the change from one of those two mods

yeah
It's intentionally designed to maximize compatibility with other mods. That doesn't mean it's perfect but I do treat this mod breaks with this other mod installed as a bug to be fixed on my end

yeah i still got a few drops at the beginning but i'd say it's noticeable

did you know if you're above and to the right of him he will always downward dash to the left

if I pick an invalid path it crashes and then the next time I launch it I get System.IO.FileNotFoundException and it never starts

it just closes when I pick a new path
even if it's valid
but if it is valid I can launch it and it uses the new path
