Holloween Day 16: Friends

Surviving in the lands of the far kingdom usually requires some combination of intelligence, agility and strength. If you don't have those traits, your only options are either dying or teaming up with another beast.

Denten was one of the smart people that managed to team up with a False Wyrm to form a deadly team. The False Wyrm, also known as Basalt, excels at burrowing, allowing for unique hunting situations. Basalt is also very strong, with their long arms being used for combat.

Denten is also smart and agile, being able to form attack plans in mere minutes and being able to flawlessly perform them. They can also see very far, which complements Basalt's near total blindness. Denten isn't very durable, so they use Basalt a lot in order to defeat larger bounties.

Adopted by the former Warbred Prince Erevoss, this is Khosaan. Erevoss found them almost dead from starvation, due to hatching alone with no parents around. He took the tiny nymph in and nursed them back to health. He had intended to find a home for them... But they imprinted on him very thoroughly, and he got attached. This is after they gained weight and health. They are half Vhessen, half butterfly-type Lepidian.

Hollow Knight Ideas - Lil'Obry

Location and Interactions
Deep in the Royal Highways, a small creature appears from one open manhole. Lil'Obry, as it is called, will speak with the Knight and can be given Rancid Eggs to unlock more dialoge options. If the Knight makes an attack or uses a spell, Lil'Obry will swim down the manhole and remain underwater for a few seconds. If the Knight uses its Monarch Wings near Lil'Obry, the latter will remain in awe, sighing a "Ah" or "Oh" each time.

Dialoge
As previously stated, Lil'Obry will unlock more dialoge options if given Rancid Eggs. He knows little about Hallownest and says to have arrived recently. He seems to be aware of the infection, but doesn't seem to be affected by it. He often talks about "Momma", and how he will soon depart for his home country, where he is regarded as a prince. He says to be the descendant of the "Great Drakes" and a Drake himself. In his last line of dialoge, he says to be prepared to leave and will search for a place to spread his wings and fly back to his realm. He offers the Knigh a ride if it's able to find him before he flies home.

Final Thoughts
A cute little character and some new lore. Who are the Drakes? Why is he not affected by the infection? Will Lil'Obry be able to go back to his throne? The next entry will unveil all these mysteries.

Holloween Day 18: Glory

The most successful patron of the colosseum is not one to be trifled with. They have been known to be able to flush out nearly the entire supply of fools in an hour.

Through their strength, their nail is also capable of killing WYRMS. Through their power, they mostly fight in the colosseum for the sake of fighting, not wasting their time obsessing about glory.

Nowadays, with nobody to fight, they sit on their mountain of corpses, awaiting a new challenger to face them.

The Hunter (it mimics the moss of greenpath ok)
The Hunter Lives across kingdoms and times, no record of loss, their game of grime.
To hunt and kill, they don't feel remorse, even if to stand in front of your corpse.
The hunter reins a kingdom, a testing groud for its might, Perhaps a constrast to some of the prevailing light.

Shown together are two brothers. Up top is Erevoss, and below is Vherra. They used to be very close, but life happened, circumstances happened, and they were pushed apart until they ended up on two different sides... culminating in a vicious fight where Erevoss almost died, and Vherra was disowned by the one who had raised him as a son.

These brothers have a hell of a story to tell.

Erevoss is the older brother, Vherra the younger. Erevoss is a 3rd gen Warbred, while Vherra is a 4th gen. They share a dam, but have different sires. They were raised by King Zarkhan as his sons, though Erevoss was always the favorite, and Vherra was treated as second best and never good enough.

Gorb, and Galien:

The mastermind behind it all, put down due to the Kingdoms plan, he wishes to ascend, because he can only fall. Beams of yellow light, bloom through the kingdom like wildfire, illumination of Ascension. Gorb.

The Fallen Warrior in his dreams, lies to the ground, struck down by the fowl, beaten by the harsh, perhaps they should of treated the warrior differently, but no, lost in the nest of entanglement, he lays, the lifebloos flows; some say it grows where those have fallen, and its clear to see, a sprout beams from the sac, and into the minds of a millenia. Galien.

This is an OC I made. Haven’t given them a name yet
-they’re a failed vessel who found a way out of the abyss, kinda like shattered vessel
-they wear bandages to keep their head from falling apart
-they fight with a broken greatnail that they found on the corpse of a great husk sentry that had died from infection
-they were last seen by cloth in the howling cliffs, leaving the kingdom in search for better lands

Holloween Day 21: Kingdoms

Throughout the course of the Holloween season I have mentioned a kingdom of unknown name. That kingdom is known to the locals as Asphodel.

The cavernous kingdom was carved into the side of a rock face, with wonders to astound the mind and with creatures beyond your wildest imagination.

In the southern area of the kingdom, there lies a grand castle where the king resides, They too were born from a Wyrm, and they were responsible for the kingdom's creation.

In the eastern area of the rock face, the intelligence level of the bugs decreases, until you reach the forbidding wilds. There you meet the Warsteeds, Demon Horses who reside in the Pale Dunes.

High up, suspended in the air is the sky city. This city is kept aloft by tethers, who anchor themselves to the heavens. The only bugs in this city are ones that can either fly or resist the cold temperatures brought about by the winds.

Holloween Day 23: Water

Around the kingdom of Asphodel lies a great sea. This ocean is filled with secrets of an age long past, as well as water. Lots, and lots of water.

The cliffs overlooking the oceans were carved from the wishes of a great god, born from a dead beast.

Location and Interactions
After having unlocked Lil'Obry's last dialoge option, he will then disappear from the Royal Waterways. At the far west of the Howling Cliffs, where the wind blows too hard to pass through, a large moult will appear. Having reached the moult, a large bug will descend from the skies, apparently coming from the direction of the wind. Interacting with him will reveal lines of dialoge.

Dialoge
He will present himself as Great Obryon, descendant of the Drakes, and an old friend of the Knight. He is very pumpous and will act as if it was of high nobility. He expresses gratitute towards his mother, the Drakaina, who brought him to Hallownest before the infection spread. He explained that thanks to the Knight he completed his training, and now is ready to fly back to his reign. To pay the debt he has with the Knight, he offers a ride to his reign, though he doesn't know if "creatures such as the Knight" are well received.

Final Thoughts
There it is: a new reign to explore! What secrets might be lurking in the depths of this new world?
The design for this prince was inspired by dragonflies, hence the name. I had to change some features to make it more hollow-knight-esque.

Holloween Day 25: Dreams

Most kingdoms have some sort of god to worship, and Asphodel is no exception. It has the almighty god of dreams, Zenrath.

Zenrath, in the myths of those who follow her, created the world from her own dreams, eroding the land as it went, creating land masses similar to those of a human brain.

Zenrath has a form she takes in the dream world, where she becomes significantly larger and grows large, heavy wings that resemble cloaks.

During the take-over of The Shunned One, she was revoked of her powers and spends her time staying in the dream world, unable to escape.

Holloween day 26: Soul

The scholars of the soul sanctum required millions of bugs to gather enough soul to become resistant to the Radiance's infection, so they sent out a missionary.

The task this bug was assigned with was to kill as many bugs as possible. They had barely made it to the kingdom when they were found and killed off by merciless antlions.

The kingdom of asphodel does not take kindly to outsiders invading their lands, preferring to keep to themselves. Only few outsiders have made it inside, and only 1 has lived to tell the tale...

Holloween Day 27: Grave

We shall forever mourn the loss of the King of Asphodel, the emperor of bone, and the light of the new world.

They were the first to die during the reign of The Shunned One. Few remember the king, and those who do have grown old and weary.

The tombstone constructed upon the ashen peak bears a time flame, lest we forget of his incredible reign. It was he who carved the lands into the shape it was today, it was he who birthed a great kingdom.

It was he who created the world, they say.

The bugs of Asphodel suffered a harsh fate, even those in higher power.

While the void spread throughout the kingdom, it "cleaned" and hollowed the interior of any bug it came across, leaving behind a dead shell.

The void eventually retreated when Zenrath returned, leaving a sea of dried husks in its wake.

Holloween Day 29: Family

The King and Queen of asphodel have some- interesting backstory I would like to touch on.

The Skull King and Queen Lotus first met on a battlefield, where they had some difficulty getting along. Through mid-battle discussion, they had learned much about each other.

After the war, they met up again and got married. A few years later, they had a child. The child was named Writh, and was a strong-willed warrior who nonetheless was extremely intelligent.

Before the reign of The Shunned One, the family divided, both leaving in their own separate ways, leaving Writh torn between them, eventually choosing to go off on her own.

During the reign of The Shunned One, the void crept into the palace of the king, killing him and emptying his body. The void barely made it past the door to the Pale Forest before Nickel stepped in and destroyed it, killing Nickel and the void in the process.

The queen tends to her garden in the Pale Forest, unaware of the king's demise. Writh, during this, was cast out into the barren sands of the kingdom, growing complacent with the state the kingdom was in.
