Separated by death, the valiant warrior known as Shuck seeks to avenge her fallen lover.
Tainted by The Shunned One's curse, Shuck's lover fell fatally ill. The trail coming off of her head is still a sign of the curse afflicting her from beyond the grave.
Shuck will not rest until The Shunned One is killed and the curse is lifted from the land. Unfortunately, as they confronted The Shunned One, they had become afflicted, and Shuck was killed.

The Hooded Hunter, also known as Grist, wanders the land outside of their kingdom. As The Shunned One's influence was creeping throughout the kingdom, the lands outside were one of the few areas that thrived.
Grist is a formidable foe, wielding 2 knives and a spear. They can be frequently seen scouting out prey with their unrivaled eyesight. They usually hunt small bounties such as wild beasts, but can hunt prey as large as Dragon Slugs and Wyrms.

I decided to base this OC off of a species of Peacock Spider, in case you were wondering.
This spider is a lone member of the Weaver tribe, spinning silk into spells. With the special ability to speak to the souls of the departed, they can collect the memories of those long forgotten, sending them into the afterlife and turning their essence into pendants so the family of the departed one can remember them.
In recent times, their guests have become sparse due to the infection, but the Shaman does not mind this, although would greatly appreciate some communication.

Although most of the moth tribe had abandoned their ruler to turn to the Pale king, this one moth decided to not do that, but instead reject the Pale king and stay loyal to the Radiance.
It was that one memory that enable her to stay alive, and eventually come back to destroy Hallownest. It was he who built the statue of the Radiance on the crown of Hallownest.
One night, the dissentient moth dreamt of the Radiance, causing it to become infected, being the first bug in all of Hallownest to fall to the Radiance.

I just got enamoured with the world of Hollow Knight, and as many times before I immediatly thought of characters, locations and lore to add to that wonderful world. However, now I have a chance to show these ideas to the world, and I'm not waisting this opportunity. Note that this ideas aren't part of any official project, they are just thoughts I wanted to share.
Location and Interactions
From the main room in Beast's Den, a small passage can be open. There, a long corridor filled with empty cradles leads to a large room. The room, differently from the rest of Deepnest, will have a lullaby playing in the background, probably given by a gramophone out of screen. In the corner, Doula awaits the Knight. He will be surly at first, but once Herrah's seal is broken, he will reveal a more kind side. If the Knight tries to attack it with its nail or by using a spell, he will dodge the attack effortlessly.
Dialoge
Doula is an NPC that will give more lore about the spider tribe's demise and his work when Deepnest was at its peak. He was Herrah's counselor and he raised Hornet after her mother became a seal for the infection. He was loyal to Herrah and now is loyal to Hornet, but he also feels ashamed of himself for not being strong enough to protect the spider tribe's brood. It's hinted that he had to kill some to ensure his survival. He despises the Pale King, describing him as the one who destroyed Deepnest and bringer of the infection. He seems to pity the White Lady. It's hinted that he worked with Midwife and that once the room was shared between the two of them. However, not much else is given about their relationship.

Occasionally on your journeys through the caverns in Hallownest, you may come across this peculiar fellow; The Face Snatcher.
As their name suggests, they steal the faces of those who they defeat in combat, or of those who died of other causes.
Since you would be likely to die if you were close enough to document this creature, not much is known about them, but one of the few things known about them is that they use the stolen masks they collect as shields to protect themselves during combat.

Over the course of the AU posts I have spoken of a character known simply as The Shunned One, whose influence has spread over the kingdom where they reside. I will finally discuss this character.
This one was once a simple beast, granted intelligence by the gods. They were frequently seen studying the stars and distant beyond far from their home planet.
On one fated day, a black meteorite had crashed down on their planet. The studious beast was the first to wander over to the impact site and was surprised to have been viciously pulled in by the meteor when they drew near.
The meteor's fluids, or in this case, VOID, corrupted them, driving them mad and causing them to go into large rages whenever one drew near. Eventually, some of the void had begun to manifest itself into an Infection, which ravaged the kingdom, killing whoever it infected.
Even now, The Shunned One is still living in their home, only now it has been ravaged by void and is a wasteland.

This image represents the death of a valiant and brave warrior, Nickel. Nickel was the guardian of the only entrance to the Stone Forest, and a good person overall.
Nickel was also one of the great knights keeping watch over the kingdom, she and the others occasionally needing to fend off hordes of oncoming thieves.
Nickel was killed off by the Shunned One's influence, though her spirit remains strong, fiercely defending the place she cared for ever in death.
