That is true. I moreso do it for the ||shard|| since it gets me a lot closer to ||an extra mask|| pretty early on. also I'm trying to do everything as early as possible for the sole reason of not doing another run through. I'm fine taking more time for speedrun completion parts, but during the speedrun 2 part of the run, when im trying to save much more time, I try to get all those useful items/upgrades asap so that I don't have to run back through.

||u r pretty much guaranteed to have to do a second pass through crossroads for stuff u couldn’t get initially. This includes stuff like grubs, glowing womb, failed champion, etc. I would suggest clumping brooding mawlek in this second pass through crossroads. But if u really want the mask shard early, then I suppose u can, but it’s not exactly optimal to do so||

you may be able to extract it from the game's exe file. open it as an archive then go to .rsrc/ICON inside of it. then you should see a bunch of files named as numbers. extract those and add .ico to the end of them
