any advice for fighting ||Grey Prince Zote||? my problems are most of his move set, ||his leaping (i dash away from where he lands, but get caught by the shockwave anyway, and dashing earlier tends to cause me to get sat on), his aerial sword swing (if near a corner i sometimes have to dash through but he turns around midair and smacks me during that dash), and when he flails his sword around he can immediately pancake against the ground (so pogoing is very hard even with mark of pride, is pogoing the wrong answer?)||

||for his leaping, dash only if u see his trajectory is going to land directly on u. a lot of the times u can simply walk out of the way of where he jumps to. then u can side slash him and at the same time jump over the resulting shockwave when he lands. for the nail slam attack (the one where he goes up into the air, has a chance of doing a juke move, and slams down), u should wait until gpz commits to a side before committing to the other side of him to avoid his nail swing. for his flail u can simply just jump over him and pogo once u see the telegraph for the flail. if u r too close to him, dash out of the way before jumping up for the pogo. and if he immediately falls over instead of going for the flail, simply just stall in the air a bit longer to stall out the resulting shockwave||

||there is not really a sign when he is going to fall over. so what i would suggest is pogo him 3 or 4 times (which is mostly safe), or even 5 times if gpz starts the flail really close to u, then wings to stall a bit if u feel like to then ddark. as for the stagger problem, u can either count hits to try to ddark on the hit he is going to stagger, or if u r pogoing high enough then u can sometimes dodge him when he staggers. another alternative is to do the pogo dash method, where u basically pogo on gpz, dash out of the way, then go back for another pogo if hes still in his flail. this method gives u good time to react to his falling over while still dealing okay damage. or if u dont want to think about all of that, the safest way would be to wall jump and camp a wall until he falls over, tho ofc u dont get much damage off during the flail if u do this so its mostly just a trade off of damage for guaranteed safety||

Whenever youre lost a good tip is to ||look at your map, the holes in the sides of rooms are places you havent visited, go to them and use the pins you can buy in dirtmouth to mark the ones that look most important but you cant access yet||

Yeah thats kinda how metroidvanias work, you need to go back to places after youve gotten new stuff

Anyway if youre really really stuck and that method didnt work you can always ask here as long as you use spoiler tags on ingame content

what areas have you explored rn ? they are intentionally placed in ||late game ish areas and you won't find any in the beginning areas||
but none are that well hidden

Yep! But there is always an area that you can explore. I recommend using map pins on places you can't go yet, you can try color coding them, but without knowing what ability you need that's more of a guess.
