Keep your distance, wait for her to waste a move and strike when she's close. Never be close to her before an attack because they happen pretty quickly after their indicators and you'll likely get hit. For charms, I don't recommend any specific thing, just use whatever can solve your weaknesses

Well every area has a map, you get a map and fight bosses in areas yes. There are abilities you collect which allow you to progress further. You have stuff like charms which are scattered about for collecting. The game opens up at a certain point, so just keep exploring

You shouldn't just randomly use ||dream nail to get soul instead of hitting normally. There are 2 scenarios where dream nail is better though. First of all on boss staggers. When a boss staggers you usually wanna use that time to heal or get soul. When hitting the boss with the nail you don't get a lot of soul though and the boss immediately stands up which is bad. With dream nail though and especially with wielder equipped it allows you to get full soul from nothing on each stagger for some bosses. The second scenario where it's useful would be against enemies especially in the colosseum. If you are on low hp and there is only one weak enemy remaining that you can easily dreamnail you should do that a lot. That way you can use that enemy to heal yourself all the way up without dealing damage to it which would trigger the next wave||

||stay on one platform and focus on dodging the orbs. Whenever she teleports close to you hit her as much as possible while still being able to dodge the orbs. To dodge the orbs simply do a full jump and double jump away from them to make them fly up and out of the screen. Once they fly out at the top of the screen they will despawn. Use your soul for shade souls during the phase and as soon as it begins use shriek once or twice. That will leave her with only a fraction of her hp||
