The geo pickups don't work well with the essence and grub tolls

But there's a menu setting to control whether they are fully randomized

which defaults to replacing them with bonus items

Tier 3: Colo2, Grub goals above 23 grubs, Essence goals above 900 essence, King Fragment
Tier 2: Grey Mourner, Colo1, Grimm
Tier 1: Queen Fragment, Pale Lurker, Godtuner, Collector's Map
Tier 0: Everything else

Default would allow T0 and T1
