Yeah.
I have heard it messes with the dreamer fights triggering right, but I never had any issues.
You can disable them in the mod menu that the API adds for the dreamer fights.
Put it back on afterwards.

Ngl beginning Lightbringer (and even much later on with upgrades) damage is significantly worse than with the standard nail

ive got a question about the "redwing" mod simply put what are all the abilitys it gives you? it mentions 8 but im just wandering what these 8 are and if theres any other things it does
2 I know of:
Red flame surrounds you and it takes 1 damage for you sometimes
When you heal it spawns a flame that damages enemies
i also know that the nail arts seem to spawn some fire balls? whatever those do
and the spells seem to give enemys some sort of particle effect which i also dont know about
so besides an explanation on these 2 theres still 4 more abilitys i dont know about
Hey guys I was able to install the mod installer on mac and even installed the mods, but now my wireless controller won't work with the game, it works with keyboard but not with the controller, can you please help?

Alright, so, I need some advice.
This is gonna sound silly, but I'm trying to make a multiplayer mod (for starters, it's simple local MP on a single machine). I'm fairly skilled in C#, but I'm completely new to Hollow Knight modding. The way I want to go about it is by having a clone of the player in game that is controlled by another controller (or keyboard).
What I'm asking is this:
What's the best possible way to go about doing this?
A) Create a new player class that just inherits the regular player class(es).
B) Create a new player class with manually written in new behavior, animation code, etc.
Moreover, I need to know some specifics like how the other player should be created, i.e. should it be created on game load or every new scene?
And of course I need some info on making new assignable buttons/keys, if possible.

Hey so, Hollow Knight has this thing where if you plug in two controllers, they both control the knight, which makes sense, because singleplayer. But is there a way to change this? I've been wrecking my brain looking through source code, but I keep running into "private"/"protected"/"readonly" variables that I can't freaking modify. Does the mod loader need to specifically support input modification, or is there another way?

lightbringer was what made me discover that you can stun lock false knight
that is, you can stagger him before he finishes smashing the floor, so he never dies

there are a ton of comments on the trailer that it makes the game pointlessly easy but they've never actually played it
I can also say it's difficult (Just got monarch wings by the way), the fact you don't get soul from hitting enemies and your damage is lower and upward/downward strikes are worthless for damage is great enough balance for having ranged combat.
Although from what I've seen, endgame charms do make the last portion of the game easy.
i wish upwards and downwards had projectiles as well
Lightbringer has some fun difficult moments early game with one less mask and weaker damage. You get strong by the end but it's still a fun mod.
it feels wierd switching between horizontal projectiles and then normal vertical hits
there's a charm that gives upslash attacks
always expected a projectile to come out when i jumped over anything
atlest with lightbringer you can easily find out everythign it adds (unlike redwing which still confuses me on all it adds)

ok so my idea for the nail arts in lightbringer are, Great Slash ~ giant lance that can pass threw enemys but only deals damage once per enemy (lance likely as increased damage as well) Cyclone Slash ~ spawns normal lances around the player and shoot out towards enemys (maybe curve but that seems more complex)

first time playing i wanted to use nail arts as my main form of attack but it was around the upper levels of grey prince zote and nightmare king grimm i had to switch to strength and quick slash combo

I tried to make Lightbringer harder
eventually I'd like to go back and make it even harder by adding darkness mechanic back
but that broke dark rooms
Yeah, it wasn't too hard. was a good diversion though
for less confident players Lightbringer is actually harder than base game
because confident players take advantage of the fact they can hit so fast without getting hurt
but overall damage is lowered
also 56 made it so bosses get stunned less I think which helped a lot

I was wrecking my brain over how to make the player ignore another controller, and I finally figured it out. It was so simple: I just added the device to an "ExcludedDevices" list that was built into InputHandler.
And then the other player just uses said excluded device for movement
