smart way is this

Everyone gets the hornet DLC assembly, and the DLC is enabled with a serialized bool
and a bunch of levels/assets are downloaded with the game if the DLC is installed

that way even if the user fakes this bool value they will be missing the levels/assets, stopping people from bypassing it.

the second most sane way (not sane) which is what a lot of games from the early 2000s do would be to have a second exe but that's like, double the amount of maintaining you guys would need to do and would also make the game file size wayyyyyyy larger than they need to be.

the worst way would to have it swap out the assembly for a new assembly if you download the dlc
