like uh, the more I think about it the more I realize the hk scene is sorta an enigma but the reason that this of all games got me into modding is like, I'm pretty sure and I might be wrong but every single mod on the modinstaller is open source (and the mod installer itself is open too, as well as the website on which the installer is hosted, and the documentation for the mods).

(This is basically all possible because of the gpl which makes code stealing into code sharing. It basically says: you can use this code for anything you want so long as you share the code that you're using with others. It causes a cascading effect that ends in everyone working to help eachother indirectly make the best mods ever which at the end of the day is what modding communities want)

so yeah, my code for changing the notch costs of something without hurting save files has been ripped off about 4 times, but that's just 4 mods that were made better through my contribution, and in turn I can take any of those mods' code for my own projects.

back in the dnspy days all the mods were closed source because they had to be because you can't distribute decompiled versions of the assembly csharp without getting in trouble. The transition wasn't instant either. It happened around a couple months between the release of the first and second content packs for hollow knight.

I know Mask Shards affect it's health(tho I'm not sure by how much), but I've never thought about Vessel Fragments
