There's a few that change how the game functions entirely (mainly the combat system), like Lightbringer, Blackmoth or Redwing
There's some that add new stuff to the game: Grimmchild Upgrades, Infinite Grimm
Infinite Grimm is also an example for the next category:
Difficulty Mods - those change a certain aspect to make the game harder - Infinite Grimm (extra difficulties), Lost Lord, Mantis Gods, Hell Mod, Bindings (I think)
And finally, there's ones that don't change much gameplay-wise or are just minor additions, like:
InvertKnight (inverts the Knight's colours), BoopMod (changes sound of hitting with your nail to a "boop"), QoL (speedrun stuff), EnemyHPBar (adds HP bars to enemies and large boss bars for the bosses), faster text, FStrength for Nail Arts

unroll loops is an optimization that exists in gcc

and it does make things faster

also printing static strings is faster than using math to determine which letter to print
