Unsure if intentional but within drylands, villages will not spawn with edge territory, while in other map types, they will.
The image with water is lakes and is example of a village with edge territory
The of rest the images are drylands and showcase the bug.

I don't think that's true. You haven't proven that drylands maps never have villages one tile away from the edge; you've simply found two examples where that assertion holds.
Basically, I won't argue this too far, but seeing as you can't really prove the case it doesn't matter.
@mental island You have provided zero examples to disprove me. So maybe find some evidence to prove me wrong first, before attempting to dismiss this.
Congrats antkinggreeg. Your recent activity just advanced you to level 5!
It's been known since the path of the ocean update that dryland maps don't have edge villages. It's not two examples, every single regular dryland player has experienced this and verified on replays that dryland maps don't allow villages one tile away from the edges
It was not known to me, but I don't play nearly as much as competitive players. Would you call this a bug, then, or a feature?
It’s never been mentioned within the change logs, so think it’s due diligence to acknowledge it.
@candid folio Can you settle whether this is intentional or not, please?
Pretty sure Drylands shouldn't have edge villages
The other people in this thread are mentioning that on all map types except drylands, villages are able to spawn within one tile of the edge of the map, but on drylands they aren't. It seems a little odd to me, so I'm guessing something got changed that shouldn't have been.
That is the case, as far as I've heard and experienced. I made a post about that in "unbalanced-spawns" awhile back and that's what I was told.
