I don't really like messing with the state machines but with some tips and tricks from Imalas, a lot of things are easier than they otherwise would be.
Let me know if you have any trouble with it.
I did notice one thing from the screenshots, the data being able to go above 100% through the early research errand. Do you think you can cap data gained from the errand to 100% so it can't go over?
I actually added that in so resources wouldn't be wasted but if you'd rather it be that way then sure.
yes, I see the extra resources as the price to pay for 100% geotuner uptime
The errand isn't triggered until the target stops erupting to maintain uptime.

They consume the entire storage and set the timer to 600s.
So it would waste a percentage equal to data remaining.
I didn't overhaul anything. Just tried to fit into what was already going on. There's probably a better way than what I ended up with.

I think the QoL update broke the mod. I finally got around to building a geotuner on my save, but once a dupe did the setting errand to assign it to its geyser, the game crashed

the geotuners placement predates the QoL update, if that's relevant (I built it in advance and didn't get the geyser ready until now)
Oh yea, I forgot how cursed the GeoTuner is. Even an empty patch that does nothing causes the null sound effect crash. I had a patch in another mod of mine to bypass that. Here is an updated version of this.
okay it didn't crash this time, but I'll have to wait until the geyser exits dormancy to check functionality
