Been playing with this idea recently that runs with simple concepts :

1 - dartles get stuck to the wall when you force them to move while drowning, and they move down then can't move after that.
2 - Rhex can drink from the fountain if the fountain is in a room less than 96, then can leave said room and as long as it's connected to space it'd be really hard to make them crowded
3 - Rhexes can eat the dartles that are stuck to the wall

What was hard to fix about this :

  • the critter sensor isn't reliable here since there'll eventually be less than 6 rhexes because they leave the room,so repopulating the room requires more attention

  • Can't also lock dartles to a door (causing them to not overcrowd the rhex) because rhex won't eat the dartle unless it's on the same room as it is.

my idea on automation which i'm sure could be improved : weight plates showing green (green if bellow 10kg) would mean there'd be no rhexes outside, so put a series of and gates connected to each plate, that then conneced to a sensor that says green if less than 6 crittters. That would mean it's ok to add another one, and that releases the rhex inside the locked door (that acts as a drowning chamber otherwise), but since this specific moment only happens very few seconds per cycle I added 3 buffer gates with 200s each to improve the odds of it being consistent

Exuberant dew dripper for extra brackene from the drippers themselves, they're on a closed loop system profiting both brine and brackene rn with ease, also the wheezeworts could easily be plant poted instead of flower potted, and deliver phosphorite if you wish, but it still involves seed duping nonetheless
