Maybe it might be feasible to have overloaded wires damage dupes as well as wires
At least cause damage while passing overloaded wire breaks
Could you have buildings causing the overloaded draw take dmg like overheated buildings?
Or maybe just use the heat mechanic with overloads to release damaging heat into the environment where the wire breaks, causing damage and a bloom of heat in a radius. Maybe even destroying tiles containing the wire break
Or having “electrical charge” germs being outputted to certain liquids and steam that then induce damage on contact
Stress->vomit -> shock -> stress -> mop - > shock (repeat until chain reaction colony death)
With the wire breaks releasing X electrical charge germs into any water or steam relative to wire gauge and draw on the wire
A grounding building essentially would be a deodorizer for electrical charge germs, placeable in water or steam
