It's honestly so satisfying, esp when they're coming from their own corner to do some long thing, and I'm starting in the direct opposite corner, drive up onto the ceiling, fall, stall, fly back up, and by the time I'm falling again, I'm basically right next to them to yeet it out of their control.
Mechanics like this are so cool to watch, but you need to get them out super fast and in unexpected places for them to make a difference... Otherwise one fast aerial will ruin everything

Risk v reward though, especially in 1s. 2v1 yeah, just bump the defender... But you could still miss or take too long. If it's a 2v1 anyway, just get your teammate to bump and drive it straight to the goal without the fancy nonsense. If it's 1v1, you shouldn't do any of this anyway because all it takes is a single error with one of the resets, running out of boost, missing the shot, getting spooked by a fake challenge, or a myriad of other scenarios.... And the defender can just pick up the ball and drive it to your goal while you're recovering

If you get a flip reset, you've got about a second to do something, otherwise you'll be too low to the ground. Use it too early and it looks like a normal aerial hit. Use it too late and you won't get much height. This leads to a hotzone where everyone uses the reset at roughly the same time @prime wagon. All this to say: flip resets are predictable

@shadow swallow Depends on the defender tbh. I'm a lot stronger on defence than attacking, so I find it WAY easier reading stuff like this than people realise. "Fool me once..." type deal, y'know? Not saying I'm infallible; stuff can get past me but it's very rare that a shot surprises me. I'd say a good 95% of the time it's a mechanical error on my part.
I don't challenge on the wall unless I've got a teammate on their way back or already in net. There's only so many ways you can hit the ball after a reset, and if you can cover most of them, the risk of a goal is very low
Plus, if you can just not let them set up something like that in the first place, that's all of the work done already. A good defender can save a shot. A great defender can prevent an attacker setting up the shot in the first place

Same, that's my problem as well. It's too distracting for me. A good >95% of the matches I've played was without comms on my own, so I never really learned how to "play and listen" at the same time. I'm more focused on the sounds of the pitch. The ball, the car locations, etc. This is why I hate comms and can't have music playing either
