I've had this issue several times. Whenever I try to block someone on the mobile app, the button toggles to green for a few seconds, then goes back to gray (i.e not blocked). I only have this issue on the app, not on desktop.

Unless you mean the beta app, in which case I use the new one.

Have you tried blocking from the website or blocking other players?
On top of my head, you can’t block lichess account . And there is a daily limit of block and unblock ( i am pretty sure ). So if it’s not either of those then it sounds like you run into a bug

Yes, I have no issues blocking people from the website. And I'm not blocking a ton of people. It's very infrequently.
