I think your answer is basically right and the sites is wrong since it takes more moves. But i'll wait until people good at chess have espoused

If ||Re8 Qxf2 then either Qxf2 or Kh1 and Qxf3 stops the mate threat. Sure, black is going to lose, but it’ll take a while||
