Hi,

Today I was paired up with a few opponents who did not make a first move, so the games were aborted. Now, I see a message on my home screen that I've been timed out, presumably for aborting too many games. The aborts were not my intention though but due to my opponents not playing. I feel this time out is therefore unreasonable.

How can I resolve this? There is no option through the app to appeal.

Thanks!

it's most likely a connection issue on your end
you are waiting for your opponent to move but they have already moved and it hasn't registered to your client, which means it's your turn and you are losing time

Thanks for the response. I don't think this is it though, my wifi is fast and stable as far as I can tell. No issues with other apps or webpages.

try playing from the browser in mobile instead of the app

Thanks. Will try this when the timeout expires. Any way to get the timeout cleared aside from waiting?

Nope, need to wait. It's fully automated

Thanks. Any other suggestions if it happens again?

Well, icp gave the current option - use the mobile browser. The new app is being worked on, so the future option is hopefully "use the new app"

Just following up on this. I had the same problem again despite playing in a mobile browser. I'm 100% sure it isn't my connection. This is either a bug or poor design on how the automated timeouts happen.

Does it happen systematically?

I'm not sure. Just occasionally I get paired with someone who either never plays a first move or their clock runs out during the game, but I get a time out for it even though the issue was on their end.
