As the title suggest I'm tired of having my messages being eaten because I went over 80 characters. So my feedback to this old issue of text being eaten is to add a character limit counter so the players know if there message is too big to be posted.

Game completely deincentivizes talking in it because of this. Now that guild chat is also not immune, I can't even hide there

Or at the very least just make it so that you can't input any characters past the cap in general

This happens to me so often, I would really love to have this feature. I didn't even know what the character limit was, so I was always living in fear of my text getting eaten lol.

Awhile back I mistook my messages not sending as me tripping the sensor/filter or something.

I personally would like to see it not just wipe my entire message if I go over the limit.

until this maybe one day gets addressed, i recommend ctrl-c any time your type a longer message so you can paste it back to trim it instead of having to retype the whole thing

Good rule of thumb as well is if it passes the System tab in the chat bar, odds are that it will get eaten (as pointed out by Kemiah in a thread last year around a similar topic)

-# Obviously depends on the message: if it's a string of smaller characters like l or . then it'll cut off much sooner

The funny thing is that this mechanic is too combat the gold sellers who spam, but the gold sellers never really were affected by this anyway

Considering that I can log in and find a bot spamming in current year
