There is a lot of beauty items that are currently collecting dust or never been seen again after their initial release, so having them added to Pon list would be nice.
Halisi is right though, it is in this case, profits above community, even though the profits come from said community. It is a very shortsighted approach and a quick and easy way to make a quick profit, but that's all it is, a short-term profit making attempt, long term approach isn't considered, as they have investors to please, who would like to see a immediate return of their investments.
Though I wouldn't cast this thought aside entirely, as the industry is changing, and if Nexon continues to be complacent, they will be left behind as the rest continue to adapt, grow, and take the controlling interest of the market. Either change or die is how things work. With how short-term profits have long term consequences, we are probably starting to see struggle in the industry, as governing bodies are looking at games like this, because of their gambling habits and issues with unregulated underaged gambling- gacha. Systems like these, are putting a spot light on that matter, in other countries and even in Korea are looking into means/options to regulate that issue.

they've reclassified such things a few times in the last couple of years but very slowly and they're introducing hairs faster than they are transitioning them to pon costs

I'll accept the Beauty coupons being consumable items that Unlocks the feature for the account.
In addition, there should be the option for beauty coupons to either be bought by NPC shops. Making them a Gachapon in NPC shop, they should make it specifically:
IF: Player already has feature unlocked, more likely to drop a feature they don't have.
(Once they collected all features, it would drop random beauty coupons.)
Beauty Coupons in the Premium Shop can become "Select your Beauty Coupon".
Example:
Wig Coupon Box (Use to get a random hair coupon, you will get a coupon for a feature you don't have collected!).
(Use, and gets a coupon)
Miku Twin Tail hair (F) Coupon (Use to collect this feature and unlock it account-wide! You can trade this coupon to other players if you don't want to collect it or have already collected.)

Would I be able to get any of this as a F2P? Them being coupons actually makes them tradeable and I can buy them from players for gold, the same cannot be said for Pon.

NX already messed it up, so it's pretty impossible.
What do you do with people who paid billions on fashion items and realized they are all wasted over one maintenance? Will anyone buy anything in gacha from NX after that point?
It's all about a transition plan which I think NX has little legroom to deal with.

How about they just allow you to buy the hairstyle coupon directly with NX and make it tradeable

and no, they're not going to just "cycle old ones into pon" because that would cut into the perception of the artificial scarcity they're imposing on the system with how it's currently handled

i do sincerely hope they bring this over, it would undoubtedly go a long way in alleviating some of the problems the current system has with regards to (at this point) old cosmetic options... but i also wouldn't be surprised if they withheld it for the sake of profit, given how long it took them just to make style tab free in NA, so we'll have to see
