Unfortunately there's not really any way for another player to help you directly with the part time job. You may be best off saving up gold to buy one off the Auction House if you're struggling.
If you want to get one for free and have the patience to try, I'd suggest starting the PTJ as early as you can in game time, as the player you must deliver the package to is completely random. It may take a few tries to find someone who is not afk. I suggest sending them a direct message to make sure!
(You do not need to add the person first.)
Just send "Tara PTJ delivery for you" and many players will tell you where to meet them as they understand what you're doing, though some may be confused if they're new. Explaining "I need to give you a package for a quest." will usually clear things up if they're unsure!
