Polluted water should evaporate into 10% Pollution-Gas and Steam.

This would make the "Water Purifier" useful (again), as currently in beta its enough to just evaporate Polluted Water to clean it, without any disadvantage.

Alternatively/additionally the "Water Purifier" could spit out sewage sludge for usage in the composter or arc furnace (similar to decayed food)

I mean the purifier has the advantage of not requiring any temperature change.

Evaporating polluted water either takes forever via vacuuming or is energy-intensive via raising its temperature. Not to mention boiling requires cooling it back down again. The purifier is superior on hot planets for sure.

Evaporation only needs a pretty neglectable amount of energy and cooling boiled pluted water down again is comparable to what players need to do for general Water production or on hot planets anyways.

Main point is that evaporation does not produce any pollution but just "poofs" and is clean.

It would be much more relatable and resonable that it produces Pollutants.

I mean. Having it give off pollution will just shift people to inject polluted water into literally any hot combustion output pipe. The PW evaporates and there was already pollutant and water in there anyways

Depends on the flow rate. At a low enough water flow rate there isn't enough liquid water to freeze into ice, going off my tests from a creative world. Also the portable tank trick works better in some constrained spaces

Fair enough!

#

Though you can put things inside a room evaporator, a portable tank completely blocks most of a grid cube

True but then you have to isolate it and can't get at the vent or in with an Atmos tablet to monitor things

The liquid pipe will almost always look identical to the room

#

I'm talking about liquid pipe -> passive liquid inlet -> cube -> active vent

Does the inlet actually work for that? Thought it was one-way

flint kettle

For liquids it is. It equalizes gas both ways

Well. That's a unique function.

Vents move a fixed amount of pressure per tick, so imo it's worth the extra space. Especially for water
