I think the idea behind it is that it's an unlimited power source. Now with turrets needing power as well to run. It's an item that's "Technically" not in the loot table it's added to the store to get around that

Its unlimited in the fact that you dont have to put lowgrade. It is however not unlimited power. You can only run a certain amount of turrets, heartbeat sensors, and other goodies off each one
Just securing a quarry properly you can easily use 3-4 of them. If others agree with the cost it is what it is. I just think 10'ish points is more reasonable. But im not in the position to make those calls.

Well you can literally place your generates in a 1x1 "hidden" since you will never have to access it again. 5 points for a unlimited power source seems super OP. And turrets are supposed to be nerfed etc. Seeing most small groups will have a small base, its not really a nerf to them. Rather a issue to bigger groups with huge bases.

Sounds like the guys living in small bases getting raided are the ones with the issue. We are a small group but prefer defendable bases rather than 3x3's
and id say turrets are nerfed. At this point it costs 50 points to buy one and a generator :p

Especially when turrets are undrainable , and u can make multi-tc bases with gaps so small that only 5.56 bullets pass through and rockets are impossible to shoot through.
So if anyone makes a base with a design that turrets cover all sides with those gaps - it will be basically impossible to raid
unless they want to waste 16 rockets on a hqm wall and rockets on turrets...
And you could easily have ~2-3 gaps like that within 4 layers of honeycomb
so basically 48 rockets just to get to the turrets in each layer and then rockets to destroy the turret.
Also the cheap generators make cave bases even more op.

i've managed to upkeep and build the base i've mentioned up top as a solo on a 5x, so bigger groups could easily have up to 7 + layers of that as the base is easily expandable and makes those gaps on every layer of honeycomb this means 48 + 4 = 52 x 7 = making it 364 rockets just to get all turrets down on one side of the honeycomb if they do it 7 times.

Based on the discussion above it seems that you made a decision on the price. Is that the case? 5x still shows it at 30 points
fyi, Atheries post is not a good example. Its rare that you would have that many turrets that close to one another and you can only string them so far. So even if you can do 9 max off one generator it rarely happens.
But in all reality it doesn't really matter. The 5x server is 100% daylight so you can use a solar panel per turret

suggestion for the trio 5x, and whichever servers use the "harsh" decay system. built a heli tower before bed, 5x5 on bot, 3x3 on top, compound walls surrounding. have a 2x2 across the map that was raided 9 am est. of the same day. when i got on this morning, my heli was raided, completely decayed, yet my 2x2 still hasn't decayed. i think the system could use some looking at
