However, there isn't many 8 mans on the server, it was never really a prevelant issue until recently, but we also have to face the fact that it IS a heavily modded server (as being 5x with kit pvp n that jazz). Having 3 man max would be wayyy too low and 8 man would be very annoying for lots of solo - trio groups. I think in between would be perfect, as saying 5 to 6 max or even 8 man groups allowed but only 4 can roam at a time.

But 8 sometimes feels too much, cutting it to 4 seems a bit too much, 6 would probably be the best middle ground. But honestly the reason 8 man clans seems like alot because even though they are only 8, they have another clan of people from the same bigger clan and they "counter" each others raids and "pvp" each other while not taking any loot.
