As we all know general chat is currently filled with welcome messages coming from new players
Now for people using discord on their phone it's quite frustrating to have to scroll down every few minutes because of welcome messages. Creating a separate channel for welcoming messages might increase people active in general.

Also this is very subjective but some of the emojis aren't used like at all and some of them are just outdated memes. I think deleting/switching some emojis would be a good idea

I definitely think anybody should be able to send messages

Mainly the sticker

welcoming people with the sticker in general is kind of a tradition, so i don't think having a different welcoming channel is a good idea. maybe the image in the welcome message could be removed to make the message shorter. and yeah i agree with replacing some of the emojis

there is a point to be made and ill consider it, its tough cuz i dont want to give up on the tradition of welcoming new members in general chat thats been around since the servers existence, but i agree that it does discourage chatting often

ill think about alternatives

I definitely want the ability to greet the new members with the sticker

Maybe the welcoming message can prompt the new member to start talking, or like ask a question for the member(s) to answer

i believe discord is rolling out a server guide to most servers soonish, so whenever that happens it would be possible to make the message smaller as the server guide would be there to include that sort of information instead

it wouldnt flood the channel as much if it was just a couple lines, probably without the image too
