  • Cant really figure out what ore you are mining.
  • you can see space if you enable them on the lower left side of the screen

I believe that is intentional, balancing thing. See clearer in the darkness at the expense of visual clarity

it's just that damn filter. makes them awful to use

#

even irl nvgs aren't that bad

#

this is crappy like multiple generations old nvgs too

Would say i still prefer mining without them. Maybe they could be used by crew/antags when there is no power at station

I think the main detriment is that if you have a good light source, light a sec lite or flashlight. You can see perfectly fine no matter what

#

Nvg don’t provide much extra vision than a good light

#

I think if they didn’t have a range limit they would be far more useful

#

But I don’t think the colour is the issue, as that’s just balance for the advantage they give

In ss13 nvgs are a flat improvement aside from a vulnerability to light

#

Having this downside will make them the worst of the vision modes outright when they were already kinda eclipsed by everything else

#

Even mesons are better than plain nvgs

#

Already

#

Because then you can see through walls in addition to seeing in the dark

#

Thermals are better for the same reason in a different sense

#

Xray are outright better because you can see everything with no limits

#

Nvgs are the lowest tier of vision because they’re alternate pretty useless

#

Engineers start with equipment better than base night vision

#

Speaking of, in terms of prosthetic eyes and visors, instead of having specific types you pick, you should be able to customize them between different vision modes (and for visors) different hud modes
