You can use </chatgpt:1108714622413963314> to ask ChatGPT about your question while you wait for a human to respond.

#

do you have to use Swing? could you use FX instead?

#

"make separate jframes & convert to panel" doesnt make much sense

smoky glen
#

use separate files. dont try to keep everything in 1 file

#

would probably be easier to just write the swing code

#

swing window builders use a special kind of layout, called SwingLayout

#

and the layout isnt intended for human intervention

#

it could, if done right. but thats going to depend on many things

#

seems like today is the day, ramsay

#

its not that difficult. you just gotta understand layouts

#

UI is all about nesting layouts

#

you might have a BorderLayout, but a panel inside that layout may be using FlowLayout or GridLayout

#

and those panels may have other panels, using other layouts

#

so its mostly just understanding layouts

#

you can try copy-n-pasting

#

yeah

#

its tuesday. im sure you could learn basic Swing & write it manually by then

#

i dont mind

#

thats the school life

#

grades mean nothing. it counts towards your understanding, your knowledge

#

bad professors may give good assignments bad grades. good professors may give bad assignments good grades

#

in the end, what matters is what you know

#

panels arent special, they arent complex

#

dont fear them

Generally splitting it up makes reuse earlier, increases readability, ... Normally it shouldn't be too hard to move.

Your question has been closed due to inactivity.

If it was not resolved yet, feel free to just post a message below
to reopen it, or create a new thread.

Note that usually the reason for nobody calling back is that your
question may have been not well asked and hence no one felt confident
enough answering.

When you reopen the thread, try to use your time to improve the quality
of the question by elaborating, providing details, context, all relevant code
snippets, any errors you are getting, concrete examples and perhaps also some
screenshots. Share your attempt, explain the expected results and compare
them to the current results.

Also try to make the information easily accessible by sharing code
or assignment descriptions directly on Discord, not behind a link or
PDF-file; provide some guidance for long code snippets and ensure
the code is well formatted and has syntax highlighting. Kindly read through
https://stackoverflow.com/help/how-to-ask for more.

With enough info, someone knows the answer for sure 👍
