oh ok, yea thats a hard one

essetianally what happens to most artist (even me) is that we usually have trouble with values. and since values are the most important part of the picture. What some digital artist do, is basically create an image using only values (dark to light, Contrast, to low contrast , etc ) then add a new layer on top for color

the problem with that is,
1.) its extremely hard, and takes alonger pierod of time

2.) it takes a longer period of time lol

I dont really use value paintings myself cause I personally hate them, since if your not experienced it can mess up your colors, and it takes longer to fix them.

So instead, what I do is just do it the old fashioned way. Make a new layer, fill it with grey, and set it to color.

basically greyscale painting is just there to make sure you have your values in check. its super important to check your values, but you can also check them as you go along.

Again, its all up to the artist to decide

but the timing part is more significant than people think. If you paint with color intially, it would probably take you 1-2hours with some colors being off. But if you paint with values first then colors, it still takes you 1-2hours for the values, then another 1-2hours to fix the colors . Since color's create there own seperate set of values

Basically think about it like this. On a normal computer graphics program, there is a value range from 0-256

255* sorry. So from black to white, you can get a value that represents each one of those numbers

that character who isnt mine is the cause of the death of pretty much any universe he enters but hes in every universe from whenever time started ticking in that universe
