#Is this a reference to the Clancy Lore?

I was thinking it references Clancy leaving the Banditos and falling back in line with the bishop’s, but I could be wrong.
Also the constant “follow me instead” during the song could be either Clancy speaking independently or a torchbearer perspective, idk. I just know that at the end of the song, Tyler ignores that lyric and “joins the march to the sea”
Have you listened to "a car, a torch, a death"? :)
