I have a really interesting theory that Keons is actually a bandito that hasn’t fully converted to a bishop. It would be really interesting (also heartbreaking) and explain a lot more of the story if the next part of the letter (tomorrow) finishes the letter to say:
Dear Keons (or keons equivalent),
Please take care of the bishops for me. As long as we don’t give up, Clancy isn’t dead.

Or something along those lines, just a letter of encouragement to the new bishop that says not to give up on their mission.
