Okay wait hear me out. This is the order of letters posted on DMA.org:
988 06MOON 18 (The frst time we hear clancy + where he talks about his doubts with dema)
018 07MOON 01 (a lifeless light...)
018 07 MOON 05 (follow the Torches)
018 07MOON 18 (I can't believe what I just saw)
019 01MOON 22 (Did I give up?)
In Chronological order, this is what I think the letters are:
017 07MOON 07 (Dema as home) This is specifically because of the "you are still sleeping" mention, which tyler mentions at the start of jumpsuit, AND clancy talks about " a new version of myself," AKA this marks the beggining of a new cycle/clancy. This also has to do with Simone Weil's beliefs but thats a whole other can of worms I can get into later.
018 07MOON 08(I've made it out). depicts clancy being alone. As in, not with the banditos. by the way he talks, it sounds like he's never seen trench before. it sounds like this letter should depict him writing right after he managed to escape the car/nico.
018 07MOON 18 (I can't believe what I just saw)
019 01MOON 22 (Did I give up?)-- These two are talking about the events of jumpsuit proper.
988 06MOON 18 (The frst time we hear clancy + where he talks about his doubts with dema) Okay hear me out. A couple of reasons. the "ninth year" of twenty one pilots is 2018, which is when trench came out, After blurryface came out. Suggests that clancy only really started understanding the problems with DEMA after he got a glimpse of trench. Plus, the "east is up/west wall is blocked" suggests he trying to communicate a plan to escape to someone else.
018 07 MOON 05 explicitly talks about making plans, uses the pronoun "we" and mentions torches. He knows something about the banditos, which we know he didn't know about the first time he left. Along with the mention of the glorious gone assembalage, it's reasonable to assume this letter takes place during nico and the niners.
After it makes no sense for him to write because now he has the banditos.
