Tally definitely sounds like it could be Clancy apologizing to TB for becoming a bishop.

I just got my FPE CD last night, and as I was flipping through the lyric and credits booklet I noticed DIFFERENT LYRICS TO TALLY.

So I immediately played the CD and skipped ahead to Tally, but the lyrics and roadmap are the same as normal. So was this a crazy mistake where the lyrics got changed and the booklet didn’t get changed? Or is this a hint to something else? I’m gonna attach images and explanation below 👇🏻

To me these lyrics seem like an addition to the story, I’m that somehow Clancy is escaping the cycle despite being a bishop.

So.. “let me go let me go..” makes me think of when Nico is dragging him away, and he’s fighting back “let me go” so he can crawl away through the mud he’s being dragged through.

I see your view! However, I think considering TB is meant to represent Jesus and hope and truth and light.. I don’t think moving forward without TB is what he’d be going for here. Especially after we got Drag Path, which means he’s still holding on to the Lord and his faith

Also tbh, I read these alt lyrics again and can actually kinda combine both of our views! And now for me, I kinda see it like what you were saying about the “let me go” but more like he’s saying it out of shame or guilt. He wants out, he wants to be in the right place, but he’s done it his way for so long, he still feels like he’s gotta crawl out of this mud alone and clean himself up alone before returning.

I really like the Garbage Intro too! Also in both Drum Show and Tally there’s some filler guitar layers missing that make the bass tone more present and clear and as a bassist I love it
