I feel like Tyler’s power isn’t just seizing but using the band. Before this, Tyler relied on Ned’s antlers—a metaphor for his music, for creating, even if it hurt him at time like in Chlorine. But when Nico stabbed Tyler with then and then crushed them, Tyler was able to throw up the twenty one pilot symbol. The symbol was ultimately what killed Nico and what made him become a bishop. The other time they implicitly use the symbol is in the Contract where all the glowing red eyes are in the drumhead. It could be that that’s the power— the power of all the other Clancy’s fighting, or of us in the crowd fighting our own blurryfaces. He’s seizing us during the shows, we’re all moving to his order and energy.
