So currently in the lore we’ve reached a point where Clancy has been in a chokehold by Nico for quite some time. We recently saw a glimpse of what went through Clancy’s mind when his eyes were closed during paladin strait, seeing all the red eyes and fake torchbearer there. At the end of The Contract, Clancy opens his eyes and we still are left unsure of what will happen next.
From the ending of the paladin strait music video, there’s no way that the contract was supposed to be the correct follow up song to it. For just like two seconds, you can hear a note/sound start to play before it cuts, which is different from the starting note on The Contract. I believe this will be a different song on Breach, revealing to us what will happen after the chokehold cliffhanger we’ve left off at.
But what if this isn’t the final battle of the lore? What if Clancy gets teleported or sent back to the beginning, throwing us off from an expected epic battle? I’m not fully sure yet, but the possibility is that he could defeat Blurryface in another way that we don’t anticipate.
Like when you wake up from a really good (or bad) dream just before the action hits. You’d really want to go back and finish the story right? But that doesn’t just happen. You have to live with the memory of what you saw, but take note of it moving forward. Kind of like A Christmas Carol in a way, where the characters you see in a dream that speak to you influence your reality.
I’m gonna be honest I don’t fully know how to draw all the connections, but songs like Car radio, Routines in the Night, and many others have mentioned sleep, dreams, or being awake. I’ve really dabbled in these ideas and I’ve wanted to understand how the lore could end from the concept of Trench being a dreamland for someone’s psyche, to possibly being destroyed by Clancy (from Bandito).
