About the company

Team Engine Ltd is a company based in the United Kingdom which provides the software service 'Engine' to the Film & Television industry. Engine is an entirely cloud-based web application, used by individual productions to onboard crew personnel: primarily digital contracting & timecards.

The team currently consists of 4 contractor developers, and 3 customer support (inc 2 founders), all working remotely. We have an open communication culture with mostly ad-hoc meetings (where they make sense), and are focused on getting things done, while also improving the code base.

Our nimble team processed close to 3,000,000 timecards last year while continuously improving our platform and shipping new features. Recent initiatives include adding a secure messaging and file distribution system, increasing our test coverage with Playwright-based tests, and paying down technical debt.

What our devs love most about Engine? The perfect balance of autonomy and collaboration, solving interesting challenges for a tangible industry, and the satisfaction of building tools our users rely on every day.
