#Actor model in Elixir
2 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
The TLDR is Actors are basically GenServers in Elixir which maintain state and have their own process. The creators of Erlang were not intending to implement Actors. That label is applied after when it has that appearance.
It's not a perfect fit for the Actor model depending on what you think the Actor model is as defined in this talk. If you're not interested in Pony just watch the Erlang section. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0m0_qtfzLs
