So i need help. This is rather short because ive had to rewrite this 4 times. 🫩 How do i sing from my diapragm as a very top heavy and overweight woman? I have mild POTS. my stomach doesnt move when i breathe or sing that much. My breathing is not that strong. i have years of bad habit throat singing and muscle memory. No one told me as a kid to not sing like that. I sound bad i admit. Whenever i sing i save anything that sounds ok but its self delusion because none of them do. i cant afford a vocal coach. I wanna improve at home. Breathing correctly is the first step right. This is a big struggle for me. Im a bit slow minded just a heads up.

Overall you don’t need to have a lot of stomach movement as long as you know you’re not tightening or squeezing your throat and engaging your WHOLE body and having engagement in your core even if it’s slightly that’s what matters
And remember there is a lot of singers of all weight and yes larger weight who sings fantastic or shit even better so weight doesn’t matter, singing is a learning skill and development it’s not talent
But if you need help in detail because there’s MORE to it, but it’s also not as hard as you think as beginner obviously struggle 98% of the time
let me know and we can vc since it’s easier to coach there
Been helping peeps here already
Im online now. I know a lot of bigger people can sing well but my chest makes me breathe weaker than others. Im worried if im not getting enough breath when singing 😓. Idk when you are online but ill probably be in a kbox for now. We can move to another study box though or something similar when you are online.
Also thank you
I’m online rn dw and yes you’re not suppose to actually breathe from your chest
This is called shallow breathing
And actually it makes it worse
So yeah like I said it’s more in depth I’ll explain dw
Ok what box
