The audio itself actually isn’t bad! And yes it is completely normal for everyone, not just you, to not like your perfomance or even voice that is NORMAL that is the psychological enemy part of singing - this comes with time and getting used to!

Regardless you can sing it girl! But I can see why you’re also struggling a bit, you’re not experimenting and doing other technique with your voice and you’re mixing two different genres - you’re doing more broadway singing into what’s supposed to be Jazz/old school R&B which are two completely different singing technique - you’re not too far off though regardless and focus on pitch accuracy as well! You’re most likely not liking the voice because you’re slowly falling flat and sharp slightly which is common as well but fixable with time and practice
So that being said here’s what you gotta do, you are aware of using chest voice which is good but you need to implement mix voice too! (especially higher chest parts/belts) as well as a lot of jazz and rnb uses chest and mix, play around more on your LOWER register because we need a sassy type voice, more confidence and it is a little bit exaggerated but comfortable (think mimicking lower voice singers like Christina Aguilera)
and if you wanna make this song more accurate or interesting learn how to growl your voice like in country/rnb songs in some of the parts KEEP IN MIND what I’m saying here is experimenting and ISNT necessary but good ideas to keep options because YOUR style is what you wanna do for your voice as long as it fits what you wanna do
Ofc make sure you actually drink water and hydrate and warm up your voice to also make things easier and smoother and like I’ve said before we NEED confidence we can’t have the voice or tone be stuck in the mouth especially in the back and we need the sound and vibration to be out and forward and open!
and make sure to avoid any and all strain and tension even if it seems small and ofc focus on lower stomach diaphragm breathing never your throat or upper chest!
Pretty good flexible voice but a few voice cracks at the start tho
Relax your voice at the parts when your more quiet
Thank you so much for your insightful response! I really appreciate it since I’m actually trying to improve my singing. As for the way I mix two different genres, I actually didn’t notice that until you pointed it out so thanks for that as well.
I’m going to take this feedback and definitely try to improve myself! Again, thank you so much for your honest feedback!
Thank you very much for the feedback! I’ll defo try to focus on doing that from here on out :))
No problem you are good
It’s just not the sound you’re looking for if that makes sense
That can make you seem to doubt your voice along with other factors I’ve mentioned above
And yeah all genre has specific technique to sound like that genre
So once that’s down it’s ez
Yeah makes sense, been tryna find a correct sound for a while
Again tysm
Ofc bestie
I really liked it! 👍 you have a good voice!! I would like to hear more covers :))
