I've been self-teaching myself w sing for nearly 6 years, and one thing I don't think I've ever been able to understand is that I can just never get my voice to sound it's best. Some days I will sing & it will sound absolutely beautiful, amazing, and exactly how I want. And then the next day, I'll go back and sing the same thing again (even after warming up & singing the same thing many times) and I can just never seem to get it the same.

Help? lol

Much probably pressure 🥲
It's not any "lack of skill" and etc.
It's just that your voice finds it's way of singing a song in a... different tone and with different aproaches, what you can try to do is remember the aproaches you did in that first beautifull time, oh, and record yourself so you know how you did it

#

And about the pressure, just try to relax, remember how you sang it in that best take and try making it better >:)

I was gonna have a song with that name 😂

But going back to the topic
Wanna show two recordings of the same song? So I have a better vision of it

You have to also remember lack of rest and break can cause muscle issues - yes warming up is important but also lack of enough warming up causes issue too meaning if you’re doing it TOO short like 5–10 minutes that’s ineffective same with hydration. Lack of enough hydration or none at all messes you up - also avoid bad food and drinks that causes mucus and dehydration such as juices, soda, coffee, milk, energy drinks, alcohol and even smoking etc

But besides that it’s just physical practice with the voice and ear training! Also taking breaks and rest to make sure your voice is ready is also crucial because even minor vocal damage stuff like vocal fatigue or hoarseness or soreness and yes being sick too, will effect negatively

Also that just knowing basic mechanic of singing is crucial, don’t squeeze the throat, don’t be too loud, don’t push or try to put unnecessary effort, use your diaphragm 100%, keep a straight body posture, don’t lift up your chin or shoulders etc

Record yourself singing something and save it, come back to it like few weeks later and re listen to it. Your brain likes to tell you “that was awful, imma redo it”. And it’ll keep looping. Also, keep singing more and more as you can prior to re listening to your recording
