hiya! Im a 18 year old girl who really wants to be able to sing better. I realize that in karoke I tend to crack and strain with higher notes and my voice just sounds really flat and weak in general. My main goals are to sing louder and stronger. Any tips or tricks would be helpful! :))

WARMING UP

#

warm up before you sing, find a warm up to do on YT any really works

#

Lip trills help for example

#

Good to do with scales

#

Don’t focus on singing louder, but using safe power

#

Learn placement

#

Like tongue behind your bottom teacher when belting

#

Before you sing, I recommend relaxing your body, stretching your jaw to relax if

#

And once you belt, drop your jaw, don’t spread

#

Placement of your tongue is very important

#

And learn about head voice, mix voice and chest voice

#

Best way to start to learn singing in my opi ion is to warm up and search up excercises

#

Like belting exercises for mix voice

Yeah, all the stuff above is really awful. I used to strain a bit when singing higher notes, but I’ve fixed that by relaxing. I’ve taken a big interest in the mechanical terms (still no clue about the vocal chords, tongue placement, ect.) but yeah. Basically everything they said and RELAX, it is important to keep your voice sort of floaty.

Your voice is like quicksand, so don’t struggle getting out
Idk if that is an appropriate little visualization, but I find it helps me
