I recently started wanting to attempt to sing live for people, but I'm struggling to find the optimal setup for live singing: specifically setting up my audio chain in my daw, like should I be using compression, how much if so, limiter, etc. If anyone is versed on this stuff I'd love a little bit of help. I'm by no means asking for an in depth guide, I just wanna know what I should be using in the chain and a relative starting point. Thanks in advanced! 💜

live - on a stage or online?
Online
to be honest, i think as long as the audio quality is good (not noisy, eq is balanced), compression is personal taste. limiter also not so important on discord (but should have one for recording)
i'd be far more concerned with background noise, audio quality and potentially eq than compression than limiter, since people can adjust volume to their taste anyway
I gotcha, thank you
Sorry,I'm late.Just found your post and wanted to help you and the other to achieve the best audio as possible.First your question is about the compressor, the answer is if you wanted to achieve the professional studio- sound like vocal you must use it.Compressor is the powerful things that not only manage your dynamic when singing but it can also shape the character of the sound if you know the technic and the right compressor for your job(each compressors have its own sound character and some can even make an additional adjustment like adding some sort of mild distorting-compression in the plugin itself)
