I've always liked singing but I'm bad at it, never knew anyone IRL who can sing, I'm starting to do a voice exercise before singing a song, is that enough to improve my singing in the long term? if you have any tips I'd totally appreciate that.

I’m a completely self taught singer, from my experience, best way to learn singing is to just start. Doing vocal exercises before singing is already a great start to improving. Keep doing what you’re doing and slowly progress, do vocal warmups and learn why they help your voice, as you keep going learn about the different vocal registers and how to access them and figure out your singing style :)). Soon enough, if you keep going you’ll learn more and more, what I’d do is record your progress and focus on one thing at a time when learning, the progress you make will push you to learn more, and keep singing. The best way to get better and improve, is to never stop singing and just do it, soon you’ll develop better hearing and recognize any problems that you could improve in your singing, you’ll get to range and pitch and tone and all the stuff lol. Just keep singing, keep warming up and always search for feedback. :)) If you ever need help, js reach out here and someone will prob be able to give u advice for free

@sick stone Yooooo, im a self taught singer ask also, but all i did to get better was i just dibt and my friends or family said any pointers of that were around, not saying anyone should learn how to sing like i did, but yeah, it worked for me, i think it's cause my family could never afford a vocal teacher. I was just bored and wanted a hobby, but yeah, and also i used to do chorus back in 4th grade and in 8th grade
