can you play chords and stuff? this looks pretty accurate to me https://chordify.net/chords/julie-doiron-songs/dreamed-i-was-chords
Not really, no. But I'll be happy to learn
But thank you!
thats fine!! being willing to learn is a good attitude to have
so what do you usually play? can you read chord charts?
I can, yeah. I don't remember any the chords though and it takes me quite a bit to get used to playing them. I wanna try making the chords a little more interesting than just strumming in a few of the parts
I usually play whatever song I find good on my classical guitar
Think my last song was part of the madness if you're wondering about that part? Or maybe a few leith ross? I think you have a basic idea now
so you can do different fingerpicking patterns on the chords and that's def something where you have more freedom? whilst still keeping the same basic chord structure
you can also improvise a bit with "passing notes" within the key (it's in E major, which is fairly common for classical)
it's probably good to at least learn and remember a few basic chords, you can play these chords one of two ways
- you can play without capo in the original key, but you'll need to play a few of them as bar chords (B and C#m)
- you can play either 2 half-steps down without capo or in the original key with a capo on the 2nd fret, where there's no capo
for option 1, you'll need to learn E, A and Am. B is a bar'd A on fret 2, and C#m is a bar'd Am on fret 4
for option 2, it'd be D, G, A and Bm7
lmk if you need help playing any of these chords or finding fingerpicking patterns
Okay okay, thank you. I'll keep all of this in mind
Will def let you know‼️
