Its not about force although the first time it might be, the idea was to start from a stalled position, and you have to either throw into or force softly the start

You'll achieve proper vibrato if you hit the note properly. Not with excessive force

i'm not teaching perfection but I am trying to give those people who do not know anything about vibratto a hand to "get started" if you use this technique the way I demo it to you, your probably going to have a bad time, but if you have never done so before it might be necessary to "force" you voicebox into action especially if you have a "tight" voice box

both techniques

IF you get good at "throwing" you can usually control from 1 up cycles but it is hard and i think also unwanted to less than 1 cycle

speed is usually controlled by tensing or loosening your overall grip on your voicebox (if passively driven, I.e. you are not using you muscles in your voice box in any way, which is completely impossible for me)

altho I kind hit the brakes a little muscular wise

learning pitch matching is easy, got a vacume cleaner? hum along until the noise gets a lot louder

I remember my mother telling me to stop and that was all the confirmation I needed to know to understand that the two sounds were standing on each other and she could despite the noise of the vacume cleaner, hear the quiet boy copying it.........

But well anyone will tell you manual cars are more fun and you get more control overall :-{D
