If you want to make your own music I'd recommend finding a producer like myself that makes music in the same style as you do. They will take care of all the instruments and stuff around your singing. The only thing you will have to take care of then is the singing, songwriting and recording!

Hope this helps, lmk if you have any questions!

You don’t need anything fancy

#

Just mix your vocals

Good microphone quality is crucial if you want it to sound good

#

If you are just doing it for fun without caring for the quality much then yeah you can absolutely use anything you got on hands

Only that it’s a built in mic

you need a music distributor as a middle man that handles the royalty revenue and legal stuff. Music on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music need ISRC codes to track them, etc

And arguably hardware prices makes the software seem like a bargain

#

Doesn’t help it mostly holds its value as well

Unless you hire other people to do it for you then take credit for it

Man I'm broke, the only choice I got is either produce my own beats/music or use others'. (Like those free beats you see on YouTube 😭). I only got a decent laptop and a mic. I think that's enough for me to get started. Or no?

I men that depends a lot on your definition of ''enough to get me started''. There are free producers out there, but most of them are beginners that need to practice making beats. More experienced producers like myself and Chris won't do it for free since we're been doing it for so long and don't need that practice, but you'll obviously get someone who actually knows their stuff, how to mix, etc.

But yeah if you think you'd rather learn how to make your own beats, it will require a LOT of effort, and your first ones won't turn out that good (no ones first beats are good) but you'll slowly get better and better and in the end you will also have even more creative control since you're the one actually making it beat

#

Though getting the right audio hardware is a different story, like Chris mentioned, getting the gear you'll need to produce will require a lot of time and cost a lot. So it's definitely a tradeoff

@tawdry harbor what kind of beats do you produce? I mean, like, what's your genre/niche?
