Hi misty! I used to play piano a long time ago but havent picked up for like years xD
But here's a gist lol. In music language, there are 7 letters (A B C D E F G) and piano has those. The white keys on it are them are "Naturals". While the long black keys are like tiny higher (sharp) or lower (flat) tones of the white keys. 🎹
In music sheets, the spaces between the lines are F A C E and the lines themselves are the E G B D starting from down to up. They are distinguished by black stylish dots called notes like these 🎶 🎵 .
Diff notes also tell how long you'd hear them like 1 or 2 beats yadadada. @w@
In piano, chords are what makes gud moosic and they are made by combining certain keys together, making a pattern, then playing them in different ways. ^^
Fingering is the way your fingers move from one key to another. For most chords, you usually use the thumb, middle, and pinky fingers for those 3-key Chord comfortability. If too far, use your index. @w@
And the way you practice piano is by playing enough that your fingers should jump comfily from key or keys to the next. Try not stretching your fingers or else you'll end up like golem. XD lift your palm and curl those knuckles ✨️ move your hand too if needed. ✋️ 🤚
You can play anything nowadays thru things like Piano Synthesia (videos of these colored bars approaching piano keys) or by reading some music sheets online.
Well that's the overall gist. U can research more if ure up to it. ^^
May you enjoy learning friend. Goodluck on your endeavors ^^
Something I did when I started playing piano was taking a picture of my hand every month, and draw around my hand on a piece of paper
Your hand would start to look different over time (eg. more bony, more long, etc.)
Your hand will also grow in size (From growing naturally, or stretching your hands while pianoing-ig)
Coming from a three year experienced nub piano player! ☺️
thank you so much!! ur explanation is so easy to understand. i remember i was watching a yt vid about how to read a music sheet and i was left so confused after. but this def has made it easier thanks alot :)
oh thats very interesting ive never heard of that!!
You can watch a video or read a book about music theory, it will deepen your understanding ☺️
Deep like skibity toilet lore
ok
this tips gonna be controverisal probably
im not gonna give you like technical stuff more like philosophical SHIT LOL
but uh ive been taking piano since i was 5 (parents) and i hated it for soooo long and only came to enjoy it when i started messing around. you dont need to know much and dont overcomplicate it by taking all these exams and the prepartory stuff. really just take a youtube tutorial, prirotizie learning basic music theory, some chords, and other cool tricks. thats more then enough to mess around. youtube is your best partner fs - watch other people play piano too
often what I do is i'll take my piano out of key by two semitones (basically means two down what the note actually is) and mess around to find cool chords and progressions
i would stop you on youtube
youtube is reliable and useful, but only for the first two-three months of playing when learning theory and such.
I prefer 1 on 1 lessons with a teacher or a tutor (the one i am using)
it doesnt take much money, but if money is a problem, you can buy books from music stores ( i prefer tom lee)
for beginners, choose premer level and work your way up from premer, 1, 2, 3, 4.
it will teach you all the basics you need
ALSO NEVER USE APPS ON THE APP STORE
SIMPLY PIANO IS STRAIGHT UP dogshit.
