This might not be the help you're looking for. But it's supposed to be hard to strum to a rhythm in the beginning, it's something you will eventually get the hang of. Though there is one correct way to do it. And that's to continuously move you hand up and down in front of the guitar. You should never stop, even when you're not acctually hitting the strings, you should still be moving your hands up and down. Then what you do is that you for a lack of a better word "choose" when to hit the strings and not, by moving your hand closer to the strings. What you don't want is to make fast and imprecise movements
